Hon. Lawyer Joseph Kwasi Asuming is the District Chief Executive of Bosomtwe District Assembly. He is a Lawyer by profession and a product of the University of Ghana, Legon and the Ghana School of Law. He taught as a Graduate Teacher in Nigeria in the 80s before working as a Research and Publicity Officer at the National Association of Local Authorities Ghana (NALAG) between 1985 and 1987. He joined the then Internal Revenue Service in February 1987 as an Assistant Inspector of Taxes and rose through the ranks to Chief Revenue Officer and became the District Manager for Asokwa and Obuasi Small Tax Offices.
He worked with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for Thirty (30) years before retiring in 2017. Lawyer Asuming was the Ashanti Regional President of GRA Senior Staff Association between 1997 and 2003. He has been a Board Member and Vice Board Chairman of the Atwima Rural Bank. He also served as Member of the Ashanti Regional Lands Commission between 2008 and 2017 representing the Bosomtwe District Assembly. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.
Lawyer Asuming was first elected as an Assembly Member for the Worakose Electoral Area in the Bosomtwe District in 1998 and served for Nineteen (19) years (1998-2017) and became the Presiding Member (PM) for the Bosomtwe District Assembly for 16 years from 2001-2017 thus making him the longest serving PM in Ghana.
He was appointed as the District Chief Executive by His Excellency the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo in May 2017.
