THE SECOND ORDINARY MEETING OF THE FIRST SESSION OF THE NINTH ASSEMBLY OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

Bosomtwe District Assembly held their second Ordinary Meeting of the 1st Session of the 9th Assembly on Friday 25th October, 2024 at the Assembly’s Conference Hall, Kokoado. The meeting covered Reading/Correction/Acceptance of previous minutes, Presentation/Discussion/Approval of Draft 2025 Fee Fixing Resolution, Presentation/Discussion/Approval of Draft 2025 Composite Budget, Presentation/Discussion/Adoption of Executive Committee’s Report, Motion/Report from Members in order of receipt and questions.

SENSITIZATION OF THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION (RTI) ACT AT BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

Following the successful passage of the Right to Information (RTI) Act in 2019, (Act 989) it has become essential to sensitize all institutions (public sectors) about this important law. In line with this, a one-day workshop was held for the staff of the Bosomtwe District Assembly by the Ashanti Regional RTI Commission. The RTI Act 2019 (Act 989), passed in May 2019, grants all persons the right to request information from public institutions without oppressions.

REGIONAL COMPOSITE BUDGET HEARING

 In accordance with Regulation 17(3) of the Public Finance Management Regulation, 2019 (LI 2378) Regional Budget Hearing are being organized for all 261 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) concurrently across all 16 regions from 14th to 25th October, 2024. Regional Budget Hearing provides the Regional Coordinating Council (RCCs) with support from the National Technical Teams the opportunity to jointly review the Revenue and Expenditure Performance of the MMDAs for 2024 an assess the outlook for 2025-2028.
