Visit Bosomtwe District

The Bosomtwe District Assembly was established on (1st) November 2007, by LI 1922.  It was carved out of the then Bosomtwe Atwima Kwanwoma District (now Bosomtwe and Atwima Kwanwoma).  It is one of the (43) districts in the Ashanti Region, with Kuntanase as the District capital.

BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY DONATES ITEMS TO PERSONS WITH DISABLITIES (PWDS)

The Social Welfare Department of the Bosomtwe District Assembly on gave out cash and items which included refrigerators, industrial sewing machines, provisions, transfer showcase with credit cards, clutch motor, hair drier etc to persons with disabilities in the district at the forecourt of the District assembly.

INAUGURATION OF UNIT COMMITTEES FOR THE THREE AREA COUNCIL OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT

As a constitutional mandate and a means to promoting local government participation , the Bosomtwe District Assembly on  3rd March, 2020 inaugurated its unit committee members for the three Area Councils within the district ; Kuntanase Area Council, Jachie Area Council and Boneso Area Council respectively. This was to conform power and recognition to the various unit committee members for the three area councils respectively.

INAUGURATION CEREMONY FOR RE-CONSTITUTED ASSEMBLY MEMBERS AND ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER FOR THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

On Thursday, 23rd January, 2020 a ceremony was held to inaugurate 52 re-constituted members of the Bosomtwe District Assembly, out of which 35 were elected and the rest appointed.

Bosomtwe District Assembly Donation of Items to persons with Disablities (PWDs)

The Social Welfare Department of the Bosomtwe District Assembly on Friday 19th October donated cash and items which included refrigerators, industrial sewing machines, drilling machines, bags of rice and many others to persons with disabilities in the district at the forecourt of the District assembly.

DISTRIBUTION OF RELIEF ITEMS TO DISASTER VICTIMS WITHIN THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT

National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) in the Bosomtwe District on 9th November donated relief items which includes bags of rice, blankets, oil, mosquito nets and many others to victims of disaster in the Bosomtwe District at forecourt of the District Assembly.

GROUNDBREAKING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 6 UNIT CLASSROOM BLOCK WITH ANCILLARY FACILITIES AND A 6 UNIT WATER CLOST TOILET EACH AT PRANYINASE D/A PRIMARY AND ASISIRIWA D/A PRIMARY UNDER GETFUND

The government of Ghana with the vision to increase enrollment in schools and provide conducive environment for teaching and learning, has through the Ministry of Education awarded for the construction of the above projects in the mentioned communities.

REPORT ON THE 62ND INDEPENDENCE DAY ANNIVERSARY

The 62nd Independence Day Anniversary was held at Kuntanase the district capital under the theme “Celebrating Peace and Unity”. In an address by the District Chief Executive, Hon J. K. Asuming that he read on behalf of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo – Addo, the president of Republic of Ghana, extended to all good wishes and felicitations on the occasion.

BOSOMTWE SCORED 97% IN FOAT ASSESSMENT

Government of Ghana as part of its efforts to improve the performance of the District Assemblies in terms of efficiency, accountability and delivery of basic community services has introduced a performance based grant system.

Under the system, the District Assemblies are assessed on agreed indicators on a yearly basis using the Functional Organisational Assessment Tool (FOAT). Bosomtwe District Assembly had a provisional score of 97% in the assessment.

Hon. Lawyer Joseph Kwasi Asuming

Hon. Lawyer Joseph Kwasi Asuming is the District Chief Executive of Bosomtwe District Assembly. He is a Lawyer by profession and a product of the University of Ghana, Legon and the Ghana School of Law. He taught as a Graduate Teacher in Nigeria in the 80s before working as a Research and Publicity Officer at the National Association of Local Authorities Ghana (NALAG) between 1985 and 1987.
