RECLAMATION OF GALAMSEY SITE AT KONKOMA

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the District Chief Executive of the Bosomtwe District Assembly, Hon. Engr. Abdullah Hamidu, along with officers from the District Works Department and law enforcement agents, launched an initiative to stop illegal mining activities in Konkoma, a farming community within the Bosomtwe District.

BREAST CANCER SCREENING

Bosomtwe District Assembly in collaboration with the Bosomtwe Health Directorate will be conducting a breast cancer screening for staff of the assembly to commemorate the breast cancer awareness month. This will help women to know their status and detect earlier if any to seek medical intervention. The screening will be held on Thursday, 23rd October, 2025 at kuntanase Market Center, Kuntanase at exactly 9:30am.

JUSTICE AND SECURITY SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

The Justice and Security Sub-Committee held their committee meeting on Monday 6th October 2025 during which members deliberated on the security concerns within the district. The Discussion of Sub-Committees included Finance and Administration Sub-Committee Report, Development Planning Sub-Committee Report, Works Sub-Committee Report, Social Services Sub-Committee Report, Justice and Security Sub-Committee Report, Environmental Sub-Committee Report and Agric and Business Sub-Committee Report.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS - 2025

The Bosomtwe District Assembly in collaboration with the Bosomtwe Health Directorate creates the awareness of breast cancer in the month of October, 2025. Every woman is advised to visit any nearby hospital for screening of the breast. This will help especially the women to detect earlier if any to seek timely medical attention. The Health Directorate will also take the opportunity to advice everyone on health tips and on how to avoid stress causing our temperature to rise.

DISTRICT PLANNING CO-ORDINATING UNIT MEETING

In fulfilment of Act 936 section 85(a) and (b) of Local Governance Act 2016, the Bosomtwe District Assembly on Thursday, 23rd September, 2025 held their DPCU meeting at the District Conference Hall-Kuntanase to discuss the report and plans of the assembly. The meeting discussed 2nd Quarter 2025 Departmental Report, 2025 Mid-year Review of the Annual Action Plan and Draft 2026 Annual Action Plan.

DVLA LAUNCH

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Abdullah Hamidu of Bosomtwe District, yesterday launched the DVLA Office at Aputuogya Education Office. The programe was organized to introduce DVLA service to the good people of Bosomtwe. The services will operate every Monday from 9am to 5pm. The launch was beautified with the presence of the Ashanti Regional Manager of DVLA, Jerry Edem Afablo and his team, Staff of the District Assembly, the Security Agents, Assembly Members and the community.

A DAY CLEAN UP EXERCISE

On Saturday, 13th September, 2025 as a clean-up exercise was organized at the Sawua Government Hospital. This exercise was led by the District Chief Executive of the Bosomtwe District Assembly, Hon. Abdullah Hamidu in collaboration with the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene. This was in compliance with His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana John Dramani zeal to free the country of filth.

FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Bosomtwe District Assembly, Hon. Abdullah Hamidu, together with the District GES Director and some Staff of the District Assembly visited the nursery pupil in Esereso and Aputuogya schools on Monday, 8th September, 2025 to mark ‘My First Day at School’ for the academic year. The visit was to interact and welcome fresh pupils entering basic school, to share his experiences, advice and encourage and also present some stationary as part of efforts to help sustain their interest in school.

A WORKING VISIT (Ashanti Regional Minister)

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene paid a day working visit to the Bosomtwe District Assembly on FRIDAY, 5TH SEPTEMBER 2025.

The minister during his visit executed the following business; Interaction with management and staff of the assembly, A visit to Prabon Greenfields, A visit to Sawua Palace and A visit to the Regional Referral Hospital at Sawua.

ENGAGEMENT WITH BOSOMTWE COMMUNITY POLICE ASSISTANTS

The Bosomtwe District Chief Executive, Engineer Abdullah Hamidu, had the honour of addressing the newly recruited Community Police Assistants at a special engagement. In his motivational address, he underscored the critical role they play in safeguarding communities and maintaining peace and order within the district. He further assured them of his unwavering support, promising the provision of additional uniforms to enhance their work and boost their professional image. Also present at the event was Mr.

COACHING OF THIRTY NEWLY SELECTED METROPOLITAN, MUNICIPAL AND DISTRICT ASSEMBLIES ON SOCIAL WELFARE INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND CASE MANAGEMENT

The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) in collaboration with the Ministries of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) and Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development (MLGDRD) among others embarked on a coaching exercise in the Eight (8) Regions targeting the Thirty (30) newly selected Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies across the country.

SKILL TRAINING AT DEDESUA

The Jachie Area Council of Bosomtwe District Assembly in collaboration with Life Builders Support Network and Business Advisory Centre – Bosomtwe District organize a skill training for Dedesua community. The training was conducted in the church of Pentecost, Dedesua on Thursday, 21st August, 2025.  About 102 participants were present to take part in the exercise. The exercise included Liquid soap, Fabric softener and Bar soap. Hon. Abdullah Hamidu, the District Chief Executive graced the training with his presence and gave a brief speech.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PHASE 5

As part of the activities of the District Chief Executive, Hon. Abdullah Hamidu to improve the economic growth of the District Assembly, a community engagement was organized in five communities. This marked the fifth edition of the community engagement. Atafram, Amakom, Ajamam, Beposo, Konkoma and Brodekwano witnessed the 5th phase of the engagement. REVAMPING OF BRIDGE

The bridge between Sawua Ayuom and Kodiekrom Kotei Deduakrom which was abandoned for 5 years has been revamped to perfection. The collaborative work was done by the District Chief Executive of Bosomtwe, Hon. Abdullah Hamidu and the Municipal Chief Exective of Oforikrom, Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed. This bridge will link two Districts; Bosomtwe and Oforikrom Municipal was in a deplorable state which made it inaccessible to the two Districts.

BOSOMTWE DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE MEETING WITH VEGETABLE FARMERS

The Bosomtwe District Chief Executive met with local vegetable farmers at the forecourt of the Agriculture Department to discuss ways of supporting their activities. The meeting aimed to provide farm inputs and establish a dedicated vegetable market for the district assembly, leveraging its agricultural potential in the communities. During the meeting the DCE gave a brief speech on farming. The District Chief Executive repeated his vow to developing the agricultural sector and improving the livelihoods of farmers in Bosomtwe District.

ASHANTI REGIONAL ISD DIRECTOR WORKING VISIT TO BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY.

The Ashanti Regional Director-ISD on Tuesday, 12th August, 2025 paid a courtesy visit to the District Chief Executive of Bosomtwe District Assembly, Hon. Abdullah Hamidu and also the Information Services Department. The District Chief Executive emphasized on the expectations of the government from the ISD and the District office as a whole. He subsequently commended the department for the efforts so far in government communication and his expectations among other things.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PHASE 4

Woarakose, Amankwadei, Akokofe, Adunku and Oyoko witnessed the phase 4 of the engagement. Members present included The District Chief Executive and some staff, Nananom and community members and Assembly members and uinit committee members. The DCE had a direct engagement with communities. This exercise was conducted to identify community members issues and challenges. This was held on Tuesday, 5th August, 2025 in the mentioned communities.

CLEAN UP EXERCISE AT ESERESO, FEYIASE, APUTUOGYA, ABIDJAN NKWANTA AND KUNTANASE

This initiative aligns with governments commitment to improving environmental cleanliness and promoting suitable waste management, as reintroduced by H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s national sanitation day (NSD) programs under the clean Ghana policy.
