IGNITING BRILLIANCE IN BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

On Thursday, 24th July 2025, Positive Chain Reactions, a non-governmental organization in collaboration with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), successfully organized an Inter-School Quiz Competition for nine (9) Junior High Schools within the Bosomtwe District. The competition aimed to test and enhance students' knowledge in key academic areas including Mathematics, English Language, Science, ICT, and General Knowledge.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PHASE 3

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Bosomtwe District Assembly embarked on Community Engagement exercise to engage directly with communities and identify their most pressing developmental challenges. The third phase of the exercise was conducted on Wednesday, 23rd July, 2025 in three communities namely Adagya, Prabon and Ayum. The objectives of the community engagement were to provide solutions developmental needs and concerns and also to identify priority issues in communities.

SCHOOL GRADUATION PROGRAMME

The District Chief Executive on his tour on Wednesday, 23rd July, 2025, took the opportunity to participate in a school graduation programme at Adagya. This graduation programme was led by the District Director, GES to appraise Basic and JHS students academically. The District Chief Executive gave a brief speech at the graduation programme and made an introduced as the DCE of the Bosotwe District Assembly. In his briefing, he commended all schools and students present for their hard works and urged them to continue to study hard for they were the future leaders.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PHASE 2

The phase 2 of the engagement was held at Aputuoya and Feyiase community. This was a plan of the District Chief Executive (DCE) to promote participatory governance and enhance public development in the District Assembly. The objective of the exercise was to engage directly with communities and identify their most pressing developmental challenges. This exercise was conducted on Wednesday, 16th July, 2025.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PHASE 1

As part of efforts to promote participatory governance and enhance grassroots development, the District Chief Executive (DCE) embarked on a comprehensive Community Engagement exercise. The objective of this initiative was to engage directly with local communities and identify their most pressing developmental challenges. This exercise was conducted between 15th July and 7th August, 2025, across selected communities in the district and forms part of the district’s commitment to inclusive development.

DISTRICT TENDER COMMITTEE MEETING

JUSTICE AND SECURITY SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

Justice and security sub-committee meeting of the Bosomtwe District Assembly was held on Thursday, 3rd July, 2025 at the District Assembly’s Conference Hall. The meeting discussed a Police Post at the Nkwanta-Oyoko stretch, Security Brief by all Agencies present and other Matters. The meeting was graced with the presence of All Members of the committee, the Police Commander, the Fire Commander, the Immigration Commander, the Court Registrar and the Bureau of National Investigation.

WORKS SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

As part of the duties of all MMDAs to create committee and also to conduct committee meeting, the Works Sub-Committee of the District Assembly held their meeting on Thursday, 3rd July, 2025 at the District Assembly’s Conference Room. The meeting was organized to discuss inspected projects of the Assembly. The meeting invited All Members of the committee and Ex-Officio Members (Head of Works Department, District Planning Officer, District Budget Officer, District Physical Planner, District Procurement Officer and Environmental Health Officer.

DEVELOPMENT PLANNING SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

The Bosomtwe District Assembly held their Development Planning Sub-Committee meeting on Tuesday 1st July, 2025 at the District Assembly Conference Hall-Kuntanase. The agenda included Reading of previous minutes, Discussion of 2024 Annual Progress Report (APR), Status of Projects in the District, Preparation of the 2026-2029 Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) and Any Other Matters.

NATIONAL THANKSGIVING AND PRAYER DAY

Tuesday, 1st July,2025 was declared as a National Thanksgiving and Prayer Day for all Ghanaians by the President of the Republic, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. As part of the activities to mark the celebration, the Kuntanase Christian Council in collaboration with the District Assembly offered a special prayer for the country in the constituency. In view of this all-community members were invited to be part of the celebration. The program commenced at 9:00 am thereabout at Toafoam Pentecost Church.

AUDIT COMMITTEE MEETING

The Bosomtwe Distrct Assembly held their Audit Committee meeting on Friday, 27th June, 2025 at the Conference Hall. The meeting was graced with the present of Committee Members. The meeting discussed 1st quarter, 2025 Internal Audit Report, 2024 Management Letter, Permanent Revenue Collectors and other matters. The meeting ended successfully with all matters discussed. THE SPATIAL PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING

The Bosomtwe District Physical Planning held it 6th Spatial Planning Committee Meeting on Thursday, 26th June, 2025 at 10:00am prompt at the Assembly’s Conference Room. The meeting discussed Reading and confirmation of previous minutes, Matters arising from Previous Minutes, Presentation of Development Applications and Any Other Business.

TECHNICAL SUB COMMITTEE MEETING OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The Bosomtwe District Technical Sub Committee held their 6th meeting on Thursday 19th June, 2025 at 10:00 am prompt at The Assembly’s Conference Room. The members present included District Development Planning Officer, Head of Works Department, Head of Physical Planning Department, District Surveyor, Head of Roads Unit, Rep of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), NADMO, Head, District Environmental Health Officer, District Fire Officer and Planning & Building Inspectorate Unit Officers (4).

A DAY ENGAGEMENT WITH BECE CANDIDATES AND SHS/TECHNICAL SCHOOLS

The District Chief Executive in collaboration with the District Education Service took a tour to some BECE examination centers on Wednesday, 11th June, 2025 to inspire the candidates and to encourage them towards the completion of the examination.

A WORKING VISIT

On Wednesday, 11th June,2025, the District Chief Executive of Bosomtwe District Assembly took a working visit to Konkoma Clinic to reinforced the importance of accessible healthcare to the community. The DCE spoke with the frontline Health Workers about the need to provide proper healthcare to community members and also took the opportunity to deliberate on their challenges. He then celebrated their dedication and commitment to keeping our communities healthy. The interactions with the frontliners were successful.  

COMMEMORATION OF WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY IN SOME SELECTED SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The United Nations has since 1973 declared 5th of June every year as World Environment Day (WED), this year 2025 marks the 52nd Anniversary of this all-important celebration. This year’s World Environment Day is on the Themes: Globally and nationally: “Beat Plastic Pollution” and One Child equals one tree respectively.

WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY CELEBRATION

In a significant effort to address periodic poverty and empower teenage girls, the District Education Directorate and the Bosomtwe District Assembly Celebrated World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025 with a durbar in Adunku on Wednesday, 28th May, 2025 for both basic and senior high schools in the district. The district provided education and the necessary support for menstrual hygiene to more than 300 girls. The programme was organized at the Adunku School Park.

MANAGEMENT MEETING OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

On Monday, 26th May, 2025, the District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director, Heads of Department and Units held a Management Meeting of the District Assembly to introduce the newly elected District Chief Executive. The meeting commenced from 10:00 am to welcome the DCE to office. The meeting also discussed General Assembly Matters (moving from District to Municipal) and way forward, Revenue mobilization strategy, Community engagement in all activities and other relevant matters.

MY FIRST DAY OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE AT OFFICE

On Monday, 26th May, 2025 with a heart full of gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Engr. Abdullah Hamidu stepped into his office as the new District Chief Executive for Bosomtwe District Assembly. This was not just a job for him but the chance to serve the chiefs, the Church and Traditional Councils, the Staff of Agencies and the good people of the district. Formal introduction was made and all office were visited to announce his presence.
