PWD DISBURSEMENT

The Bosomtwe District Assembly on Tuesday, 24th December, 2024 at exactly 11:00 am held a General Staff Meeting in the District Assembly's Conference Hall, Kuntanase.  

On 24th December,2024, the Disability Fund Management Committee of the Bosomtwe District Assembly organized a short but epoch-making ceremony to present items to deserving beneficiaries of the Disability Common Fund. In all nineteen (19) deserving PWDs who had earlier been selected and assessed were presented with items which were intended to put food on their table if utilized well.

Bosomtwe District Directorate in collaboration with IPDC on Tuesday, 19th November, 2024 at Esereso Roman Catholic Church held Parliamentary Dialogue. A platform to enable PCs of various political parties to engage their constituents to share their vision, policies and implementation strategies.

Bosomtwe Assembly in collaboration with The Department of Agriculture celebrated the 40th National Farmers Day, 2024. The theme for the year’s celebration was “Building Climate-Resilient Agriculture for Sustainable Food Security”. The programme came off on Friday, 8th November, 2024 at Yaase/Adwafo School Park. The program was marked with Agricultural Fair and Awards.

The Bosomtwe District Assembly in collaboration with the Bosomtwe Health Directorate conducted a breast cancer screening for staff of the assembly in the breast cancer awareness month to know their status. This will help especially the women to detect earlier if any to seek timely medical intervention. The screening was held on Wednesday, 30th October, 2024 at the District Assembly Conference Hall, Kuntanase at exactly 10:00am.

Bosomtwe District Assembly held their second Ordinary Meeting of the 1st Session of the 9th Assembly on Friday 25th October, 2024 at the Assembly’s Conference Hall, Kokoado. The meeting covered Reading/Correction/Acceptance of previous minutes, Presentation/Discussion/Approval of Draft 2025 Fee Fixing Resolution, Presentation/Discussion/Approval of Draft 2025 Composite Budget, Presentation/Discussion/Adoption of Executive Committee’s Report, Motion/Report from Members in order of receipt and questions.

Following the successful passage of the Right to Information (RTI) Act in 2019, (Act 989) it has become essential to sensitize all institutions (public sectors) about this important law. In line with this, a one-day workshop was held for the staff of the Bosomtwe District Assembly by the Ashanti Regional RTI Commission. The RTI Act 2019 (Act 989), passed in May 2019, grants all persons the right to request information from public institutions without oppressions.

 In accordance with Regulation 17(3) of the Public Finance Management Regulation, 2019 (LI 2378) Regional Budget Hearing are being organized for all 261 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) concurrently across all 16 regions from 14th to 25th October, 2024. Regional Budget Hearing provides the Regional Coordinating Council (RCCs) with support from the National Technical Teams the opportunity to jointly review the Revenue and Expenditure Performance of the MMDAs for 2024 an assess the outlook for 2025-2028.

The executive committee meeting of the Bosomtwe District Assembly was held on Friday, 11th October, 2024 at the Assembly Conference Hall, Kuntanase.

The Bosomtwe District Assembly in fulfillment of the “Section 41 of the Local Governance Act, 2016, Act 936 encourages Participatory Governance through stakeholder participation in by-laws and fee-fixing resolutions” held the first stakeholder’s forum in Church of Pentecost-Jachie on Wednesday, 20th September, 2024.

The Physical Planning Department Bosomtwe– Ashanti organized the 9th Meeting of the Bosomtwe District Technical Sub Committee on Thursday, 19th September, 2024 at the District Conference Hall-Kuntanase. The meeting invited all members of the committee.

According to “Section 41 of the Local Governance Act, 2016, Act 936 encourages Participatory Governance through stakeholder participation in by-laws and fee-fixing resolutions”, the Bosomtwe District Assembly in fulfillment of this provision held their second stakeholder’s forum in the Methodist Church Ghana -Kuntanase on Thursday, 19th September, 2024. The meeting discussed 2024 Projects and Programmes Implemented, 2025 P

The Bosomtwe District Assembly in fulfillment of the “Section 41 of the Local Governance Act, 2016, Act 936 encourages Participatory Governance through stakeholder participation in by-laws and fee-fixing resolutions” held the first stakeholder’s forum in the Methodist Church Ghana - Brodekwano on Wednesday, 18th September, 2024.

Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana on Wednesday, 11th September, 2024 held their general meeting at the fore court of the Bosomtwe District Assembly. The meeting was graced with the presence of the Regional Chairman – CLOSAG, the Head of Hedge Pension Scheme, all CLOSAG Members and Hon. District Chief Executive. The meeting discussed CLOSAG Welfare Issues, introduction of newly appointed Executives, Presentation from Hedge Pension Trust (Three Tier Pension Scheme) and other matters.   

In fulfilment of the government’s zeal to improve road network across the country, the District Assembly organized a programme named District Roads Improvement Programme (DRIP) on Tuesday, 10th August, 2024 at the fore court of the to out-door to pave way for commencement of work. The DRIP has been initiated to acquire Road Construction Equipment for the maintenance and improvement of roads in the district. This programme included District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director, Staff of the District Assembly Hon.

In fulfilment of Local Government Act 936 Section 81 (1), (2) & (4), the Bosomtwe District Assembly on Tuesday, 9th September, 2024 organized a stakeholder meeting to discuss finalization of the Draft 2025 Composite Annual Action Plan, Key Performance Indictors and 2024 Mid-year Review. The invited all Heads of Department and Units, Religious Bodies, Traditional Authorities and Public Corporation/State Owned Enterprises.

The Bosomtwe District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) inaugurated the District Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) at a meeting held in the Bosomtwe District Assembly Hall on Thursday, 29th August, 2023. The meeting, which began at 11:00 AM, was attended by key figures including the District Chief Executive (DCE), the Kontihene of Kuntanase, the Electoral Commissioner for Bosomtwe, and the District Police Commander.

The District Planning Co-ordinating Unit as their mandate to monitor and evaluate all projects within the District on Wednesday, 21st August, 2024 visited all on-going and completed projects. The inspected was led by Heads of Departments, Hon. Assembly Members and Stakeholders. The communities included Abuotem, Apinkra, Aputuogya, Esreso and Feyiase.  

On August 20, 2024, "My Time With NCCE," a radio program hosted by Mr. Albert Bentil (DD, Bosomtwe) on Evergreen Radio 87.7 FM, featured officials from the Electoral Commission of Ghana’s Bosomtwe Directorate. The guests included Mr. Kwabena Siaw (Secretary) and Mr. Essien (District Returning Officer), who engaged in a discussion about the functions of the Electoral Commission and the recently commenced "Exhibition of the Voter Register.

The Bosomtwe District Assembly on Tuesday, 20th August, 2024 held their second Management meeting at the District Chief Executive’s office. The meeting was graced with the presence of the District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director and Heads of Department and Units. The meeting discussed Preparation towards 2023 DPAT, Level of implementation of the 2024 Performance Contract and Other matters.

On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM, the Bosomtwe District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) collaborated with the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service had a special edition of "Time with NCCE" on Evergreen Radio 87.7 FM. The session focused on raising awareness about domestic violence.
